Baler, Aurora: Stoked on a Weekend

What do you do when you're free on a weekend and there's just nothing to do at home?

Well, you can pack a couple of beach wear (rashguard is highly recommended), some cash and get stoked  in Baler, Aurora! ^_^

Five to six hours away from Manila is a small town called Baler. It has its share of historical sights, natural attractions and physical activities everyone will definitely enjoy. Baler is a worthwhile weekend getaway to any type of person.

The water is brownish as it rained the night before. ^_^
If you're an adventure-skeeker or a sports enthusiast, be ready to get stoked as Baler is blessed with long sets and beautiful waves. Baler is definitely a haven for surfers of any level: beginners can try their luck in surfing at Sabang Beach while experienced surfers enjoy the waves of Cemento beach and Charlie's Point.
If you're not into surfing and just want to enjoy the nature, you will surely love the picturesque Diguisit Waterfalls or the lush greenery on mountainsides. Also, you can try trekking to Ditumabo Mother Falls, the largest waterfall in the province.

Not into surfing? Or Trekking? Why don't you explore and enjoy Baler's historical sights as they have a lot to boast of. You can pay a visit to the rest house and memorial park of former Philippine President Manuel L. Quezon. Or learn more about Philippine and Baler history in Museo de Baler. You can also spot other historical markers in Baler such as the Lt. Commander James Gilmore Marker, Aurora Quezon Marker and the Baler Catholic Church.

You can have your own dose of fun in Baler, however and whenever you want it. With its rugged terrains and mountainous landscapes, pristine beaches, and loads of historical sights, you can never never run out of things to do and to explore in Baler! ^_^
